Model-Based Testing (MBT) techniques offer a promising approach to improve the efficiency, coverage, and traceability of end-to-end (E2E) testing in complex systems, particularly when integrated within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) architecture. MBT allows programs to improve test coverage and reuse test artifacts while reducing overall costs. However, there are challenges programs face when implementing MBT which can include tools, environments, training, and culture. Implementation of MBT can be as simple as automating regression tests, or as complex as developing a system model and having traceability through test execution and data collection. The degree of implementation depends on the stage of development the program is in. An example of how to use MBT for a new program will be discussed showing how it can address challenges and achieve the stated benefits.
